For Minor Smile Repairs, Choose Composite Bonding from Generations Dental Care

March 25, 2015

92589293Are you completely satisfied with your smile, or is there perhaps one little flaw that you’d fix if you could do so easily? Well, you can. Composite bonding, also called cosmetic bonding, is designed to repair those minor imperfections. In the time span of usually a single appointment, one of the dentists at Generations Dental Care in Concord, NH, can correct that annoying flaw with composite bonding.

So what is the flaw that you want to eliminate from your smile? Whether it’s a chipped or slightly cracked tooth, misaligned or misshaped teeth, or teeth that have gaps in between them, chances are composite bonding is the solution.

The Composite Bonding Process

With composite bonding, the dentist uses a compound of composite resin materials to conceal the imperfection of a tooth or to reshape a tooth. As a compound, the dentists at Generations Dental Care can perfectly match the existing color of your teeth. In fact, if you’ve ever considered teeth whitening, then you might want to have that procedure completed before composite bonding, because bonding material can stain, but it does not respond to bleaching.

Depending on the extent of treatment, you may or may not need anesthesia for cosmetic bonding. Once you’re comfortable, the dentist will isolate the damaged tooth and apply a mildly acidic solution to the surface in order to make it more receptive to the bonding material. Then, the composite resin will be applied in stages, sculpted and dried with a curing light. This is repeated until the desired shape is achieved. Finally, the tooth is polished so the finish blends seamlessly with your other teeth.

Call Our Office Today

If there’s something you’d like to fix in your smile, then call Generations Dental Care and schedule an appointment for composite bonding. We serve patients in Concord, NH, as well as from Penacook, Bow, Canterbury, Chichester, Pembroke, Manchester, Hooksett, Boscawen, Epsom, Hopkinton and Loudon.

Teeth Whitening for a Whiter Smile and a Brighter You!

October 14, 2014

158554263When you whiten your teeth, it’s not only your smile that becomes brighter. You brighten, too. You’ll have greater self-confidence and self-esteem. Many people who have recently undergone teeth whitening report feeling more out-going. Yes, all this with teeth whitening. If you’re ready to reap the benefits of a whiter smile and a brighter you, then the dentists at Generations Dental Care in Concord, NH, are ready to help.

Our teeth become stained and dulled for a slew of reasons. Some of the most common causes are the foods we eat and the beverages we drink. That delicious blueberry pie and hot coffee for dessert last night may be the culprit. Over the years, whatever we eat and drink adds up to discolored teeth.

Other causes include smoking and chewing tobacco, medications like certain antibiotics, poor oral hygiene, and genetics. In most cases, teeth whitening can reverse the effects to a degree that is pleasing if not just plain shocking.

Two Options to Whiten Your Teeth

At Generations Dental Care we offer two in-office teeth whitening systems and an at-home system. For our patients who prefer a more rapid teeth whitening process, there is the KoR Deep Bleaching or Zoom! Teeth Whitening. With either of these systems, we first cover your lips and gums with a protective shield. Then, either the KoR Deep Bleaching or Zoom! Teeth Whitening gel is applied to the teeth. The gel penetrates your teeth to remove stains. In about an hour, you’ll have teeth that are several shades whiter.

If you prefer to whiten your teeth in the comfort and privacy of your own home, then Generations Dental Care offers the KoR or Zoom! at-home teeth whitening products, too. We’ll give you custom-fitted whitening trays and professional grade gel. Simply fill the trays with gel and wear them for the amount of time specified by your dentist. You’ll see results immediately, with the most dramatic whitening appearing in about two weeks.

If you’re ready for whiter teeth and a brighter you, then call Generations Dental Care today. We conveniently serve patients in Concord, NH, as well as the surrounding areas of Manchester, Bow, Loudon, Pembroke, Hooksett, Canterbury and beyond.

How Porcelain Veneers Can Help You Achieve the Smile of Your Dreams

August 18, 2014

164125777Do you often wonder how your favorite movie stars and celebrities manage to sport beautiful, flawless smiles without the need for braces and other procedures? When you look in the mirror or at photos of yourself, does your own smile leave something to be desired? At Generations Dental Care in Concord, NH, our team of skilled doctors offers a variety of cosmetic dentistry solutions that help you enjoy the full benefits of a gorgeous, natural-looking smile, including porcelain veneers.

The Benefits of Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin, customized shells of durable dental porcelain that are affixed to the front surfaces of your teeth. They are shaped and sized specifically to blend in with your smile for an improved appearance that still looks entirely natural. Because the porcelain used to fabricate your veneers is incredibly stain resistant, you won’t have to worry about common issues like discoloration caused by coffee, tea, red wine, and dark foods. Porcelain veneers are often used to correct the following problems:

  • Deep stains that are resistant to teeth whitening treatments
  • Mild to moderate crowding and misalignment
  • Chips or fractures in enamel
  • Excessively visible gum tissue
  • Gaps between the teeth that show when you smile
  • Teeth that appear too small or too large in relation to surrounding teeth

Our doctors are always happy answer any questions you may have about our cosmetic dentistry services, so please feel free to ask. Our primary objective at Generations Dental Care is to provide you with effective, state-of-the-art dental care in an environment that makes you feel welcomed as a member of our family.

Invisalign Clear Braces in Concord, NH: The Smile You Deserve with Generations Dental

August 10, 2014

487780771Are you one of the millions of Americans who longs for straighter teeth and a more confident smile? If you are an adult or teen who would love a more beautiful smile without traditional metal braces, Generations Dental Care can help. Conveniently located in Concord, NH, our state-of-the-art practice offers a wide range of cosmetic dentistry and orthodontic services, including the widely popular clear braces system known as Invisalign.

Will Invisalign Work for Me?

Invisalign is capable of correcting an extensive array of orthodontic issues, including mild to moderate misalignment, gaps, uneven spacing, crowding, overbite, and underbite. While extreme cases of malocclusion may require the use of traditional braces, many patients are pleasantly surprised to learn that they are candidates for Invisalign. A one-on-one consultation here at our office will help determine which option is best for your unique case.

If you are a candidate for Invisalign, we’ll start by gathering data by taking precise measurements of your current dentition. This information will be sent to a dedicated Invisalign lab where your customized aligners will be fabricated using virtually invisible acrylic, a clear and comfortable plastic. Our doctors will dispense your aligners in the proper order over the course of your orthodontic treatment, monitoring the progress of your teeth as they shift into their proper positions.

Typically, treatment with Invisalign takes approximately 12 to 18 months. As you move from one set of aligners to the next in the series, you’ll see your new smile gradually take shape. In the meantime, you’ll love the confidence you feel and the freedom you experience knowing that you’re straightening your teeth without metal brackets and wires.

Schedule Your Invisalign Consultation Today

Finally discover the possibilities afforded by advanced cosmetic dentistry technology at Generations Dental Care in Concord, NH. Contact us today to schedule your visit with our caring, skilled team of doctors and our compassionate, experienced staff.
